I was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma where I graduated from Nathan Hale High School. I studied art at Central State College now known as University of Central Oklahoma. Bruce Parks and I were married in Tulsa, Oklahoma, shortly after college. I became born again in 1971 during the revival of the seventies.
In 1976 because of a job transfer I, my husband, and two sons moved to the Houston, Texas area, specifically Missouri City, Texas where I now reside.
After receiving the gift of tongues, while attending a Full Gospel Church, I enrolled in the Full Gospel Church’s School of Ministry and graduated in 1989. It was during this school that I penned the first poem that eventually made it into my book The Secret Place-The Garden of Love.
Beginning in 1996 I started writing. I went through a traumatic experience that opened the door to writing the first book called The Secret Place-The Garden of Love. I wrote on it for twenty years. Finally, in 2016 the book was officially published and in 2020 the book No Greater Love was published.
In 2011, I was ordained through Joan Hunter Ministries and now am a part of the Freedom Center Church Altar Team ministry, where I am able to pray for people to be healed and made whole.
Some of my hobbies are painting and playing a few songs on the electric piano keyboard. Another favorite of mine is going to Estes Park Colorado. I love the area which is at the foot of the Rocky Mountain National Park where there is the fresh air, the trees, flowers, and the humming birds. I have taken mountains of pictures and will share some below.
Estes Park Colorado
Estes Park is God's gift to us. Just experiencing the fresh air and the surrounding flora and fauna brings peace and refreshment to the soul.
Of course, there are bears to watch out for, but for the most part the only animals you will see are the antelope in the town or walking on the road. Taking a trip up in the Rocky Mountains you will see Chipmunks, Squirrels, and a few other little creatures.
On a whole, this is one of the most peaceful places I have ever been.
I hope that you will be able to go there too.
